Spring Summer 2011 Fashion Report

THE LATEST Spring Summer arrivals have poured off the catwalks into the shops and onto websites, and one thing is certain, this season definitely won't be boring. Spring comes and brings us the eagerly awaited freedom through sheer fabrics and playful colours. Put away the camel because this season it's bright bright bright!
Colour Pop: This spring/summer get ready to play with extremes! Designers used a wide palette of fruity, energizing colours that make you stand out in the crowd. This season you are allowed to break some of the unwritten fashion rules and try bolder combinations of colours, mix and match for a serious colour crush.
The 2 hottest colours? Coral and blue. From cobalt to sky, any blue hue looks amazing against the zingy orange. Simple, but oh so statement.

Time for Timeless: However, if your wary about the colour splash at the other extreme we have subtle, soft, second-skin nude shades, which add a fresh touch. White has never been so chic and white lace in particular is going to be big news.
The timeless White Shirt makes a strong comeback; a sure SS'11 staple item. Extremely versatile and practical, this simple piece adds style and elegance to your overall aspect allowing you to create different outfits, whether it is something casual and effortless or sophisticated and classy, the white shirt is an essential.

Tough Luxe: Everything's gone Rock'n'Roll as Biker Chic comes riding into town. This season nothing is hotter than the Leather Jacket, this one is a smart investment; team with anything from pretty florals to your trusty skinnys.
Take it to the Max: If you didn't buy the famous Maxi Dress last year, now you have no excuses. The maxi has never been hotter... Or cooler, breezy fabrics and to die for prints were seen all over the catwalks making a strong return for another year.
Clash of the Prints: From polka dots and photographic florals (creating a 50s look) everything this season has to clash. Gingham, plaid, Aztec, stripe and paisley; go wild. The brighter, the bolder, the better.
70s Retro: Flares, pussy-bow blouses, faux snake accents, animal prints and wooden details give a 70s feel for spring. The new season shapes like wide leg trousers and palazzo pants, ethnic prints and denim are a definite nod to 70s styling.

There's no doubt these gorgeous trends will be seen dominating the catwalks of London Fashion Week. The eagerly awaited 6 day spectacular will begin on Friday 18th February.
