Pastel Luxe

Louis Vuitton SS12 - Sweet sugary pastels were seen all over the LV show
VOGUE TV - Louis Vuitton Catwalk Show

So here we are in the midst of January, it's cold, rainy and dull. We've all eaten too much chocolate and had one to many turkey sandwiches to last a life time. To top it all off summer seems depressingly so far away. As it's the new year, the Xmas decorations have been put away and for many of us we will be back to work/uni or school and stood in front of our wardrobes scratching our heads. If your like me you'll be searching through your post-Christmas clothes and wondering what on earth to wear. After spending practically all month in fluffy slipper socks, reindeer jumpers and pyjamas nothing seems appropriate.

However, spring is nearly here and there's no reason why you can't get ahead in the fashion stakes. This season it's all very romantic and feminine, think ice-cream shades, pastel is making a comeback! Styled on lightweight fabrics, chiffon, sheer overlays this trend is all about a delicate femininity.Taking it down a hue from summers intense brights, the pastel trend for this SS12 is probably my favourite, it is so pretty and delicious! So whilst I was in London on placement I had to go into the massive Topshop they have there on the hunt for some pastel basics that will keep me on trend until the sun actually appears.
Topshop Drop Back Sleevless Shirt in Mint - £30
Topshop Zip Back Vest in Pale Blue - £28

I can't wait to wear these without the hundreds of layers and parka hiding them :(
I also picked up a nail polish from AVON in Lavender which is really sweet.

The shops and internet are awash with pastel and it's so easy to wear and incorporate with existing pieces. It's also the perfect transitional piece to take you into SpringSummer.
Here are some easy ways to wear the trend :)
